A trailer truck collided with a teller booth in a North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) toll plaza in Valenzuela City.
In a report by Edwin Duque, the truck, loaded with animal feed, was passing through the Paso De Blas exit at past 2 in the morning when it hit the booth, which was overturned and nearly torn apart due to the force of the collision.
Moments after the driver paid and began to pull away, a loud crash was heard, prompting security and other NLEX personnel to check for the cause. They found that the booth had not only been sideswiped, it was being towed and pulled upwards. The truck was immediately stopped.
NLEX Spokesperson Robin Ignacio has confirmed that none were harmed when the said truck sideswiped the booth. The tollway operator will be pressing charges against the truck driver and owner should they refuse to pay for damages.
As of the time of reporting, an investigation into the reason behind the crash, despite the spacious passageway through the toll plaza, is underway.
