Three bills that will foster young Filipino's development as future leaders and productive members of society lapsed into law.

According to the report of RH28 Raymund Dadpaas on DZRH’s Rapido Hataw Balita, the National Youth Day or Republic Act 11913 and the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) or Republic Act 11915 lapsed into law on July 30; while the Summer Youth Camp or Republic Act 11910 lapsed into law on July 28.

Senate Committee on Youth Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, the author and sponsor of the bills, expressed his gratitude for the passage of the three laws.

"We are thankful for the inclusion of initiatives intended for the youth in the list of new laws. Programs for the youth are often neglected in the priorities of government but they deserve more attention since they represent the future of our country," Angara said in a statement.

Under RA 11913, the National Youth Day will be celebrated every Aug. 12, the same day as the United Nations’ celebration of International Youth Day.

Educational institutions and provincial and local youth development offices are all urged to come up with various annual programs, and activities and conduct insightful discussions as part of the celebration.

The RA 11915 or NAMCYA will serve as an opportunity to discover youth’s outstanding musical talents. It will conduct annual competitions; master classes; music theory workshops; choral conducting and technique; choral literature and vocal technique; choral writing and arranging, among others.

The RA 11910 will institutionalize the Summer Youth Camps that will also be held annually. It aims to inculcate a sense of social responsibility, patriotism, service to others, and leadership among the youth.
