Former Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. has been boarded into a Philippine Air Force (PAF) flight back to the Philippines Thursday afternoon, to face the music after over two years of hiding in Timor-Leste.
RH 29 Boy Gonzales reported that Teves is presently on a chartered plane tail no. 142. The trip, which typically takes nine to 10 hours, is expected to take only three to four hours, pinning his arrival time to around 5-6 p.m.
Teves’ lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio said the former congressman must be brought to Manila.
The PAF plane, he believes, will be landing at the Davao International Airport, briefly to refuel.
As a military plane, it is allowed to land at any airport in the country.
The Timor-Leste government announced Teves’ deportation on Wednesday, May 28, declaring his presence in the country, as a fugitive accused of several grave crimes, a “serious and unacceptable situation.”
This is a developing story.
