Expelled Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. who is currently facing multiple criminal charges, has expressed his intention to testify before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on the alleged "graft and substandard flood control projects" flagged by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to committee chairman Senator Rodante Marcoleta, Teves, through his counsel Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, conveyed his willingness to share insights and information as a former lawmaker.
“In light of your call for cooperation from the Filipino people, Mr. Teves Jr., through the undersigned, humbly offers his willingness and intention to testify on how graft is being committed in flood control projects, as such testimony may aid your Honorable Committee in its investigation and ultimately help ensure good legislation and governance,” the letter stated.
Teves noted that the probe would be a “difficult issue to investigate” given the many challenges involved, but stressed that with public cooperation, it would be possible to identify those responsible.
The former legislator added that his "experience as a long-time member of the House of Representatives will be invaluable in providing insights and information on the subject matter of the investigation, to which others may not be privy."
The Blue Ribbon Committee hold a hearing on Tuesday, August 19, investigating allegations of corruption and anomalies in flood control projects under the government’s infrastructure program.
