The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), said that a stop-and-go scheme would be implemented on Tuesday, August 13 at 3:00 PM for the upcoming Heroes’ Grand Homecoming Parade.
In an advisory issued on Saturday, the MMDA announced the grand homecoming parade for two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo, the 2024 Paris Olympics medalists, and all the Filipino Olympians.
The parade would begin at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), all the way to the Malacañang Palace. The stop-and-go scheme would aid vehicles in which routes are open once the parade starts.
Among the affected areas include:
- V. Sotto Center Island
- Roxas BIvd.
- P. Burgos Avenue
- Finance Road
- Ayala Blvd.
- Casal St.
- Legarda St.
- Mendiola St.
- Jose Laurel St
Motorists are advised to take the suggested alternative routes to avoid heavy traffic in the affected areas.
The suggested alternative routes are as follows:
- Roxas Blvd. Service Road
- Taft Avenue
- F.B. Harrison Street
- A. Mabini Street
- Southbound
- T.M Kalaw
- U.N. Avenue
