Smart Communication Inc. on Tuesday submitted the necessary documents to the Treasurer's office of Makati City, a day after the shutdown of its main office at Ayala Avenue.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Makati City mayor Abby Binay said Smart abided by the city government order and court rulings.
She said officials of Smart submitted the documents including the breakdown of its revenue sources nationwide.
“Present during the turnover was City Treasurer Jesusa Cuneta and Atty. Michael Camiña, city legal officer and spokesman,” Binay said.

On Monday, the Makati local government ordered the closure of Smart Inc.'s main office at Ayala Avenue due to allegedly operating without a business permit since 2019 as well as non-payment of its Php 3.2 billion taxes.
Following the closure, Smart vowed to comply with the Makati City government's tax ordinances along with relevant national laws on local taxation.
