Vanessa Sarno bagged three silver medals on Tuesday, May 9, in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Jinju, South Korea.
Sarno lifted a total of 239 kilograms to place second in the women's 71 kilogram event,
The 19-year old Filipina weightlifter registered 107 kilograms in the snatch category, while she lifted 132 kilograms in the clean and jerk category.
Chinese weightlifter Liao Guifang ruled the event after registering a total lift of 268 kilograms.
Liao lifted 120 kilograms in the snatch category, while she registered 148 kilograms in the clean and jerk category.
After competing in the Asian Weightlifting Championships, Sarno will fly to Cambodia to join the Philippine team in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
Sarno won a gold medal in the 2021 SEA Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
