San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora on Monday issued an executive order declaring a week-long mourning in the City in order for residents to pay respect and mourn the passing of Vice Mayor Jose Warren Villa.

Under EO No. FMZ-151, the city-wide mourning period shall be observed from Monday, June 19 until Saturday, June 25.

"Vice Mayor Villa's commitment to public service, tireless efforts, and unwavering dedication to the City of San Juan have left an indelible mark on of community and his loss is deeply felt by all those who had the privilege of knowing him," Zamora stated in the order.

"In recognition of Vice Mayor Villa's significant contributions to the City of San Juan and his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of its residents, it is fitting to honor his memory by declaring a period of mourning throughout the city," he added.

In the first three days of the week-long mourning, the San Juan City Mayor ordered that all Philippine National Flags within San Juan's jurisdiction shall be put at half-mast.

Zamora also suspended and rescheduled all of the events and celebrations in the City.

Villa passed away on Sunday evening, June 18. He was 52 years old.

His cause of death has yet been disclosed.

The late Vice Mayor is presently in his second term in office.
