The Quezon City council on Tuesday officially declared actress-comedian AiAi Delas Alas and controversial movie director Darryl Yap "persona non grata" for supposedly disrespecting the city's official seal.
The QC council adopted the resolution filed by outgoing District IV Councilor Ivy Lagman accusing the two of "malicious and unscrupulous defacing" of the city's seal as seen on the two-minute video posted on Yap's Vincentiments Facebook page.
The said video also showed Delas Alas playing the character of Mayor Ligaya Delmonte, an apparent play on QC Mayor Joy Belmonte's name. Also featured in the background is the official triangular seal of Quezon City, with its text altered to say “BBM” and “Sara.”
"The malicious and unscrupulous defacing of the official seal of Quezon City ridiculed and [cast] dishonor to it, causing insult to the noble representation of the seal," Lagman said.
"The people of Quezon City will not let anyone disgrace the official seal of Quezon City for personal and selfish interests," she added.
Both Delas Alas and Yap are yet to comment on the said decision.
