Actress-comedienne AiAi Delas Alas confirmed last weekend that her estranged husband, Gerald Sibayan’s, U.S. green card petition had been revoked.
The Comedy Concert Queen confirmed through a Facebook post on Sunday, March 30, a local media portal’s report on the revocation of Sibayan’s green card petition for the United States.
“May mga nag tatanong pa din kung totoo ito .. OPO totoo ito.. salamat sa mga sumuporta..” she wrote in her caption.
“Through the darkest moments, when I felt abandoned and alone, God has been my constant source of strength and comfort. His grace has helped me cope with the pain, giving me the courage to keep going, one day at a time. Closing a Chapter
Based on recent reports, Sibayan’s petition for permanent residency in the United States was revoked by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The official documents revealed that the USCIS granted AiAi’s appeal to cancel her estranged husband’s Petition for Alien Relative. According to reports, the actress cited their separation and the alleged third party.
The USCIS ruled in favor of AiAi and automatically revoked Sibayan’s petition. According to the USCIS, there is no appeal to the decision. Unless the actress files for a motion to reopen or reconsider, Sibayan’s petition for permanent residency will not push through.
Moreover, AiAi also withdrew all issued work and travel permits, including the affidavit of support, attached to the case.
In a separate post on Tuesday, April 1, the actress-comedienne expressed her gratitude to his friends and family who stood by her through her hardest moments.
“Thank you for your unwavering support, love, and patience. You've helped me find strength when I thought I had none. As I MOVE FORWARD, there's no looking back. I've CLOSED that chapter, and while the past shaped me, it’s time to embrace the FUTURE with hope and healing,” she stated.
“I’m ready for what’s next, with gratitude for those who’ve helped me rise,” she continued.
AiAi first revealed her separation from Sibayan during a talk show in November last year. During the interview, she stated that she will not be revoking the latter’s application for permanent residency in the U.S.
At the time, the actress hinted at the possibility of a third party but said she lacked evidence to prove it.
However, reports said the actress changed her mind after finding out about Sibayan’s alleged third party.
