The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) vehemently condemns the actions of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) members who used laser devices against a Philippine National Police (PNP) helicopter.
"The Philippine National Police strongly condemn the recent actions of KOJC members who have been reported using laser devices against Philippine National Police helicopters," Police Major Catherine Dela Rey, Spokesperson of PRO 11, said in a statement on Thursday.
"Such behavior is a direct threat to the safety and operational effectiveness of our law enforcement aviation units," she added.
According to Police Major Catherine Dela Rey, spokesperson for PRO 11, the incident poses a direct threat to the safety and operational effectiveness of the police in their division unit.
Dela Rey further added that using a laser against an aircraft is not only dangerous but also a clear violation of the Aviation Safety Regulations and Legal Standards.
She stated that the PNP is simply fulfilling its duties, and any attempts to obstruct or delay their operations will not benefit anyone.
Dela Rey emphasized the need to stop these type of actions to ensure the safety of everyone.
