President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has granted one-time gratuity pay to employees under the scheme of the contract of service (COS) and job order (JO).

Under Administrative Order no. 3 dated Dec. 23, the President stated that COS and JO employees who rendered at least 4 months of service as of Dec. 15, 2022, and whose contracts are still effective as of the same date, will be granted Php 5,000 one-time gratuity pay.

“Granting a year-end gratuity pay to COS and JO employees is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work in implementing programs, projects, and activities and pivotal role in the delivery of government services amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and present socio-economic challenge,” the order reads.

Also entitled to one-time gratuity pay are as follows:

  • Those with two months but less than three months of service - Php 3,000 gratuity pay

  • Those with less than two months - Php 2,000 gratuity pay

The order also stated that the one-time gratuity pay covers workers “whose services are directly engaged through COS and JO by national government agencies (NGAs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local water districts (LWDs).
