President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday that the number of drug suspects apprehended during his administration's nearly three-year tenure has almost matched the numbers from the previous Duterte administration.
“Noong isang buwan, personal kong sinaksihan ang pagsira ng halos isa't kalahating tonelada ng shabu at iba't ibang klase pa ng iligal na droga.” he said on his fourth SONA.
"Sa mga isinagawang pagsakote sa mga bodega't laboratoryo, at tangkang pagpasok, halos walumpu't tatlong bilyong pisong halaga ng droga ang nakumpiska na." he also said.
The President then revealed the number of individuals arrested for drug-related offenses, noting that some were officials from government offices.
“Sa lahat ng mga operasyon na ito, mahigit 100 at 53,000 ang naaresto. Mahigit 9,000 at 600 sa kanila ay high-value target.” Marcos revealed during his SONA
“Ang pinakamasaklap, mahigit 600 at 77 sa kanila ay kawani ng pamahalaan: mahigit isandaan ay halal na opisyal; mahigit limampu ay pulis,” he added.
Despite ongoing operations, drug pushers are still active. Marcos vowed to continue combating these individuals throughout his administration.
