President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has returned to the country after attending the 29th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Thailand.
The Chief Executive and his delegation arrived at the Villamor Airbase on the night of Saturday, November 19, at 10:39 pm.
Marcos said that the APEC summit was encouraging because of the common challenges that the leaders face in their respective countries.
“Of course, we discussed with the other leaders all of the issues that our countries have been facing and what possible solutions we have for the problems that we see that are upcoming," said President Marcos in a live broadcast aired by the Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM).
“It is very encouraging because the problems we have identified seem to be the same problems for most of the countries. In other words, we have consonance of views and analysis on the things that are to be of concern,” he added.
Marcos then recounted the various topics discussed including climate change, supply chain, digitalization and women empowerment, with the 21 economic members in the summit. He called the summit a useful and productive meeting.
He also met with the Filipino Community in Bangkok to announce the first-ever Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO).
During his 4-day trip, he encountered the different leaders of the world such as the United States, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and China to have bilateral meetings and forge stronger relations with each other.
