On Friday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced the suspension of all permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) on July 22, as a precautionary measure for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s third State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Its suspension was granted to ensure public safety and security, and would take effect from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the announced date.
Authorities are focused on monitoring the vicinity of the Batasang Pambansa Complex, and are regularly coordinating with their counterparts from other law enforcement agencies.
They are on the look out for possible threats to the Marcos administration, as he will deliver his address at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, where thousands of police officers will secure the premises.
