The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to file charges against a vlogger accused of spreading false information about a supposed raid on the residence of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
In an ambush interview at Camp Crame on Monday, PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil stated that the identity of the vlogger has been determined, although it has not been disclosed.
“Na-identify na po natin ‘yung vlogger na nagkakalat po niyan and we will be filing ‘yung case,” said Marbil.
“We’ll be filing a case doon sa isang tao na nagkalat na i-ra-raid namin ‘yung bahay [ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte],” he firmly added.
The Anti-Cybercrime Group is now in possession of the evidence related to what the PNP earlier labeled as 'fake news.'
Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte earlier claimed that around 30 personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and 90 from the Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police were deployed to Davao City at the end of April.
However, CIDG Director PMGen. Nicolas Torre III and PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo has both refuted the allegation.
