The PNP affirmed that the probe into the killing of a police officer within NCRPO's Taguig headquarters remains active, even though murder charges have already been filed against the accused police couple.
According to PBGen. Jean Fajardo, PNP is looking into the claim of the victim’s child that the motive wasn’t an affair but a deliberate plot to murder his father.
In a social media post, the victim's child alleged that the crime likely involved more people, spanning from the murder to the burial of the body in an ancestral home in Baguio City.
“Mayroon kaming mga ibang anggulo na titignan based doon sa sinasabi noong anak," Fajardo reported in a press briefing on Monday.
"Na maaaring hindi lamang isa because he was thinking accordingly na kaya ba ng isa lang na isakay at ilibing. So these are the things na tinitignan pa po so hindi pa po sarado ang investigation bagama’t nakapagsampa na po tayo ng kaso," she added.
Meanwhile, authorities urged the victim's child, a member of the Special Action Force (SAF), to remain calm and avoid taking the law into his own hands.
This comes after his social media post where he vowed to use his training to track down others involved in the crime.
"Pakiusap natin, nararamdaman natin ‘yung mga post niya masakit sa kalooban niya ‘to, pero pakiusap natin – pulis siya – let the PNP handle the investigation," said Fajardo.
In a DZRH News report by RH Edniel Parrosa, some of the suspect’s relatives conveyed their fear and concern for their safety after seeing the social media post.
According to initial reports, a police executive master sergeant was shot and killed by a fellow officer on November 28, after the suspect reportedly found him in an intimate situation with the suspect’s wife, who is also a police officer.
The suspect then reportedly confessed to using a hacksaw to dismember the victim’s body before transporting and burying the remains at his ancestral house in Baguio City.
