Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil led the line of police officers as they kicked off the Local Absentee Voting for the 2025 midterm elections at Camp Crame on early Monday.

Marbil is among the 1,471 police officers who are set to cast their early votes for national positions, including senators and party-list representatives.

In addition to the PNP Chief, the Command Group was also present, with the Directorial Staff and National Support Units expected to participate from today until Wednesday.

RH Edniel Parrosa reported that Marbil's voting process took just over five minutes. After casting his vote, he raised an envelope containing his ballot and presented it to the media.

Moreover, in an ambush interview, , Marbil praised the absentee voting system, calling it smooth, efficient, and well-organized.

“Magaling. We’re happy that maraming boboto sa atin. More or less 30,000 absentee votes sa PNP,” said Marbil.

He highlighted that early voting would be advantageous for their force, with 100% of the police personnel on duty during the election, noting that he himself will be conducting rounds.

Marbil shared his feeling of pride at being able to vote freely but clarified that absentee voting is limited to Senate and Congressional races.

“Parang proud ka na you can vote freely. Kaya lang nga limited lang, kapag absentee voting you’re limited to Senate and Congress,” Marbil stated.

“It’s my first time na pagkuha ng absentee voting. I usually vote for local. Ang galing ng proseso natin. Ang gagaling ng mga pulis natin,” he added.

Once the three-day period is over, the police ballots, sealed in envelopes, will be collected and processed through the machines provided by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
