The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) continues to monitor increased seismic activity in Kanlaon Volcano.
From 12:00AM on Thursday, October 31, to 12:00AM on Friday, November 1, PHIVOLCS logged 84 volcanic earthquakes in Kanlaon Volcano.
The said figure is higher compared to the 64 volcanic earthquakes recorded from 12:00AM on Wednesday, October 30, until 12:00AM on Thursday, October 31.
PHIVOLCS also reported that the sulfur dioxide gas emission of Kanlaon Volcano, as of Thursday, averages 5,866 tonnes per day.
Kanlaon Volcano remains under Alert Level 2, which means moderate level of volcanic unrest.
PHIVOLCS reminds the public that they cannot enter the four kilometer radius danger permanent danger zone around Kanlaon Volcano.
The agency also prohibits any flying aircraft from getting close to the volcano.
