The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted an aerial survey on Tuesday and observed very minimal and unnoticeable oil sheens in the shorelines of the affected areas.

The International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation Limited (ITOPF) said that the photos and videos on social media on the oil sheen do not represent the actual aerial view, as it can only be observed at ground zero where the fuel tanker sank.

The oil slick previously reached the shorelines of Bulacan and Cavite following the incident in Limay, Bataan. The aerial survey by PCG was conducted on the shorelines of Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, and Cavite.

Recovery operations are still ongoing as members of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) prepare the laying of oil spill booms and improvised oil spill booms in the areas affected by the maritime accident. The DILG of Bataan also appealed to the public for material donations on the oil spill booms.

The PCGA will deliver 1,500 coco logs and 1,500 bags of coco peats to Pampanga, Bulacan, and Bataan. Improvised oil spill booms made from used clothes will also be produced by the PCGA, in coordination with the Municipal Environment and National Resource Office (MENRO) - Ternate and the Coast Guard Station Cavite.
