President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured that Filipinos returning to the Philippines from Israel will be given various forms of assistance from the government.
In a meeting with officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and other relevant agencies, Marcos said that those who will be repatriated will receive financial, livelihood, scholarship, and food assistance.
At the same time, the President instructed the DMW and OWWA to develop a repatriation plan and evacuation strategies.
The said two agencies also continue to communicate with the Israeli government to focus on the situation and ensure the safety of Filipinos in Israel amid the war.
The number of Filipinos working and living in Israel is estimated at more than 30,500.
