Unvaccinated individuals in Pasay City will remain prohibited from leaving their homes unless for work and other essential reasons despite the alert level downgrade across Metro Manila.
In an executive order signed by Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, the city government said the restrictions will be imposed until February 15.
"Unvaccinated persons, regardless of age, must remain at home, except as necessary to obtain essential goods and services, or when necessary for work in a permitted business as shown by a work ID or employer's certificate," the executive order read.
Unvaccinated residents are only allowed to go out of the house under the following conditions:
- buying food medicine
- medical appointments
- vaccination
- passport appointments
- other appointments for government services
This means that shopping malls should ask their customers to present a vaccine card and a valid ID before granting them entry to their establishments.
If a person is not vaccinated and will only go to the mall for essential services, then the mall must get their name, contact number, and barangay for submission to the city government for vaccination purposes.
The restriction for unvaccinated citizens was enforced despite the downgrade to Alert Level 2 in Pasay City, where the "no vaccine, no labas" policy should also expire. The said rule would only apply to areas under Alert Level 3 or higher, the government previously said.
Meanwhile, a curfew for people aged 17 years old and below is also imposed starting 10PM to 4AM, subject to existing laws and ordinances.
Pasay City has been placed under Alert Level 2 until February 15, along with other cities in Metro Manila.
