Senator Francis Pangilinan is pushing back against movements pairing his running-mate Vice President Leni Robredo with other vice presidential candidates ahead of the May elections.
Pangilinan warned supporters of schemes against Robredo should another vice president wins with her in the polls.
"Gawin na rin pong Youth for Leni at Kiko sana. Baka mayroon pang isingit na iba," Pangilinan appealed to supporters.
(Let us make it Youth for Leni and Kiko, because there may be some trying to insert others.)
"Kailangang protektahan natin si Vice President Leni. Pag iba nanalo dyan, baka [may] planuhin at gumawa nang hindi maganda hindi ba?" he added.
(We need to protect Vice President Leni. If others win, they may plan and commit something that’s not good.)
It comes as movements emerge in Mindanao pushing for a Ro-Sa or a Leni Robredo-Sara Duterte tandem.
Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda, House Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodrigyez, and Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar launched the said movement in Cagayan De Oro City.
Salceda explained that the Ro-Sa tandem would be good for the country, economy, provinces, including Mindanao.
Duterte, in response to the movement, asserted that she remains committed to her running-mate, Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
Robredo also responded to the movement saying she is welcome to work with other elected candidates, but she will remain in tandem with Pangilinan "until the very end."
