After ranking 14th in the first wave, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go has surged to the top of the MBC-DZRH Pre-Election Survey in its second wave.

Three months following the release of the first wave, the Manila Broadcasting Company-DZRH has now released the results of the second wave of the pre-election survey for senatorial candidates in the 2025 midterm elections.

The independent survey was conducted nationwide from March 8 to March 10, with a sample size of 7,516 respondents and a margin of error of ±1.13%.

Here are the top 24 who led the survey results:

  7. CAYETANO, PILAR JULIANA SCHRAMM - 40.9%
  8. VILLAR, CAMILLE AGUILAR - 40.6%
  9. LAPID, MANUEL MERCADO - 40.1%
  10. PACQUIAO, EMMANUEL DAPIDRAN - 38.5

Comparison to Wave 1 (December 7-9, 2024)

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go (Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Laban) has seen a significant rise in the latest survey, climbing from 14th place (34.50%) to 1st place. Next to Go is ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo of the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas–CMD), who was ranked 1st in the Wave 1 survey (64.70%) but has now slightly dropped to 2nd place. Former Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson moved up to 3rd place from 4th place (50.10%).

Meanwhile, former Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto, who was in the top 2 during Wave 1 (54.93%), has now dropped to 4th place. Broadcaster Bienvenido "Ben" Tulfo, who was in the top 3 in Wave 1 (50.27%), has also dropped to 5th place.

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa has also seen a significant rise, climbing from 12th place (37.42%) in Wave 1 to 6th place. Former Senator Pia Cayetano remained in 7th place, followed by Camille Villar, who moved up to 8th place from 9th place in the first wave.

Senator Manuel "Lito" Lapid also stepped back from 6th place (40.1%) during Wave 1 and is now in 9th place. Former Senator Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao also dropped to 10th place from 5th place during Wave 1.

According to Atty. Rudolph Juralbal, Vice President for Legal of the MBC Media Group, there are plans to conduct the third wave by April.

Senatorial elections in the Philippines are held every three years, coinciding with the midterm and presidential election cycles.

The next senatorial election is scheduled for May 12, 2025, as part of the general elections. During this election, voters will select 12 senators to serve a six-year term, replacing half of the 24-member Senate.
