The Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced on Wednesday, Oct. 26, that it would launch the Cebu and Baguio flight on December 16.
In a statement, PAL said the new flights would operate four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
“This will be PAL's comeback to the very first destination (it) served nearly 82 years ago, so we are happy to be flying back to where it all started,” PAL President Stanley Ng said.
The following are the four weekly flights:
-
PR 2230 Cebu-Baguio - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday departing at 8:50 am, arriving at Baguio Loakan Airport at 10:50 am
-
PR 2231 Baguio-Cebu - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday departing at 11:10 am, arriving in Cebu at 1 pm.
Ng said the new route will provide “hassle-free travel” for passengers as the travel time from the Queen City of the South to the City of Pines, and vice versa is just two hours.
“We’re happy to be back in Baguio, PAL’s very first destination,” he said.
Ng said the first Manila-Baguio service flight by PAL was launched on March 15, 1941.
This, according to him, marked the dawn of the aviation age for the Philippines and Asia.
