The low pressure area (LPA) spotted near Central Luzon may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and possibly develop into a typhoon, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, September 29.

In a public weather forecast, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA was last tracked 1,715 kilometers (km) east of Central Luzon, outside PAR.

“Inaasahan natin itong papasok sa ating Philippine Area of Responsibility sa susunod na 24 hanggang 48 hours,” he said, adding that the LPA is likely to become a tropical cyclone.

Aurelio, meanwhile, noted that the trough of the LPA will be affecting eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

He said residents in the aforementioned regions should expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country should also expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA Localized Thunderstorms

On the other hand, the PAGASA weather specialist said the Southwest monsoon will bring Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in the provinces of Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the rest of Visayas.
