Authorities from the Lanao Del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) in coordination with other law enforcement operatives seized approximately P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Marawi Poblacion, Marawi City on Saturday morning, May 31, 2025.

According to LDS-PPO, the suspect has been identified as a 64-year-old man known by the alias “Kadir,” a resident of Barangay Dilausan, Poona Bayabao, Lanao del Sur.

During the operation, police recovered around one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, along with P1,000 marked money and photocopies amounting to P1 million in P1,000 bills.

“An on-site inventory of confiscated evidence was conducted in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by a DOJ representative, a media representative, and a local barangay official, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal procedures,” LDS-PPO wrote in a statement.
