More than 30 kilograms of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of over ₱204 million were seized early Friday morning, June 20, in Naic, Cavite, according to the Naic Municipal Police Station (MPS).
In a report submitted by Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Allen Padilla to Naic MPS Chief of Police, Police Lieutenant Colonel Resty Soriano, the illegal drugs were discovered inside a green suitcase abandoned in a vacant lot within Pasinaya Homes Central, Brgy. Sabang.
According to DZRH reporter Raymund Dadpaas, the discovery was made around 2:10 a.m., while patrol officers Patrolman Robert Ian Benter and Patrolman Honald De Jesus were conducting routine patrols along Friendship Road in Brgy. Sabang.
They were approached by a security guard, Jefferson Pausal, who alerted them to a suspicious suitcase he had spotted in the area.
Upon inspection, the suitcase was found to contain 30 heat-sealed packs, each filled with a crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, with a total weight of 30 kilograms.
Initial investigation led by PSSG Ronald Abalos discovered a surveillance camera installed on a nearby concrete post.
Authorities suspect that the suitcase was intentionally left at the location and was meant to be retrieved by individuals connected to illegal drug operations.
A request was made to the Provincial Forensic Unit for crime scene processing.
Soriano stated that a follow-up investigation is underway to determine who is behind the abandoned drug shipment and to identify any individuals involved in its transport or intended distribution.
