A total of P1.2 million worth of illegal hemp was busted by the Philippine National Police anti-narcotics operatives from two alleged big-time traffickers of marijuana on Saturday in Rodriguez Rizal.
According to the initial reports from the Regional Office 4A, suspects Anjo Anselmo and Jomarin Pascual were arrested around 12:40 a.m. after selling P6,000 worth of marijuana during the buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro.
Suspects yielded 12.2 kilos of dried marijuana leaves with a street value of P1,228,000 and a weighing scale.
In the report, Anselmo and Pascual were tagged as "high-value targets" in the government's anti-illegal drug campaign.
These suspects will face charges with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
