Authorities said that an online 'word war' brought about the death of a two-year-old child in the hands of his 16-year-old female neighbor in Concepcion, Tarlac.
PLtCol Noriel Rombaoa, chief of Concepcion police, said on Monday, November 28, that the suspect had an exchange of words with the mother of the victim on an online social media platform
Rombaoa added that the suspect suffered from bullying after her classmates found out about the online feud.
"Nag-post siya ng hindi magandang pananalita doon sa nanay ng biktima. Gumanti naman itong nanay ng biktima hanggang sa nagkaroon sila ng word war sa Facebook," Rombaoa said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
"Ginamit niya yung bata para makaganti," he added.
Authorities found the body of the victim inside the room of the suspect on Thursday, November 24, a day after the child went missing.
Rombaoa said that the suspect lured the victim to her house by offering a lollipop.
When they entered the house, the suspect covered the face of the victim with a pillow in order to silence the child after he started crying and shouting.
The suspect then hid the body of the victim inside her room after the child died from suffocation.
Rombaoa said that the suspect, who currently stays at a facility of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Batangas, has submitted her extrajudicial confession, and she faces charges of murder.
"Dahil sa batas natin, kapag 16-years old tapos nag-act siya with discernment, pasok na siya sa kaso. By the time, ma-reach niya yung 18-years old, i-transfer siya sa jail facility," Rombaoa explained.
