EJ Obiena bagged the gold medal in the USA Track and Field Los Angeles Grand Prix men's pole vault competition.

The Filipino pole-vaulter cleared 5.80 meters to dominate the event on Saturday, May 18, at the Drake Stadium in Los Angeles, United States.

Norwegian pole vaulter Simen Guttormsen and hometown bet KC Lightfoot also earned a spot on the podium after registering a height of 5.70 meters.

Obiena is currently preparing to compete in the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
