The PAGASA confirmed on Tuesday that no typhoon is expected in the coming days after the onslaught of Typhoon Pepito.
In his weather forecast during Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, Beni Estreja of PAGASA said no typhoon is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this week. However, easterlies are affecting a large part of the country particularly the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
"Ito yung ito yung mainit na hangin mula sa Pacific Ocean at magdadala ito ng mga pag-ulan sa may Caraga region at Northern Mindanao," Estreja explained.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (Amihan) is bringing rain to Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands. Isolated rain showers are expected in other parts of the country, including Metro Manila.
He added that the Amihan season could be declared today or tomorrow, and it is expected to start in the coming days over Extreme Northern Luzon.
The overall drop in temperature will likely be felt by December.
