A Vietnamese national was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation - Dangerous Drugs Division (NBI-DDD) on July 19, for selling illegal drugs.

During the buy-bust operation, the NBI-DDD seized millions worth of illegal drugs inside the foreigner’s condominium unit in Parañaque City. According to them, the seized 53 ecstasy tablets and 14 grams of ketamine were intended to be hidden inside the stuffed toys.

NBI Senior Operative Jonathan Galicia said that the drugs were sold online and delivered via transport network vehicle service.

Moreover, they identified the arrested Vietnamese national to be using aliases to conceal his real identity and elude arrest since the discovery of his lost Louis Vuitton bag containing illegal drugs, cash, and identification cards in 2023.

Aside from that, operatives also found falsified documents on the day of operation, stating that he was granted a 9G working visa valid until 2026, as shown in his Alien Certificate of Registration.

According to NBI Director Judge Jaime Santiago, a tablet of ecstasy costs P2,000 and is a popular party drug. On the other hand, ketamine is priced at P12,000 per gram and is abused for its dissociative sensations and hallucinogenic effects, such as the facilitation of sexual assault.

The suspect was charged with violation of Section 5 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Parañaque City Prosecutor.

Additional charges will be filed against him, for the violation of Section 11 under the said act for Falsification of Documents, and RA No. 6085 or the Illegal Use of Aliases.
