The National Museum of the Philippines appealed to its visitors and museum-goers to follow the general guidelines it enforces inside the institution.

The appeal was issued following a viral video posted by a netizen last week that showed two teenagers who used an art display as a phone stand to film a video for TikTok.

The said art display was a marble structure curated by Filipino artist Impy Pilapil.

Many netizens were ired by the video and called out the two teenagers' act.

"The National Museum of the Philippines prides itself on being one of the leading educational, scientific, and cultural institutions that seek to acquire, document, preserve, exhibit, and foster public appreciation of a diverse collection of works of art, natural specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts representative of the unique cultural heritage of the Filipino people," it said in a statement posted on its Facebook page on February 22.

"With that said, the NMP would like to urge all visitors and museum-goers to adhere to our visitor guidelines and treat works of art and specimens on display with the utmost care and respect, especially during National Arts Month," it added.

Under the NBP guidelines, taking photos without flash is allowed, but recording videos is strictly prohibited.
