One of the country's most wanted men and a female firefighter were apprehended in separate manhunt operations in Sulu and this city, police said Saturday.

Brig. Gen. Neil Alinsagan, director of Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), said Singbi Hassan, 45, was apprehended at the Hasiman wharf in Barangay Tanjung, Indanan, Sulu, by operatives of the 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company and the Sulu Police Provincial Office around 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Hassan has two pending arrest warrants for murder with no recommended bail issued by two courts in Zamboanga City, dated May 14, 2002, and Nov. 19, 2003.

Meanwhile, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Director Col. Alexander Lorenzo stated that Fire Officer 2 Asaha Mukatil Adin, 49, was arrested in Barangay Sta. Barbara around 1:06 a.m. on Friday.

Lorenzo stated that Adin has been wanted for human trafficking since 2013.

Both are being held at ZCPO headquarters before being turned over to the appropriate courts.

On the other hand, three members of the New People's Army (NPA) surrendered to authorities in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Col. Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-WWestern Mindanao, identified the NPA surrenderers as food supply couriers Allan Lumasagand Ignacio Duntar, as well as an alleged spy named Evangeline Yatar, on Saturday.

Lumasag, a member of the NPA's Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee's Main Regional Guerrilla Unit, surrendered around 9:30 a.m. in Barangay Lumpanac, Imelda town on Friday.

Verceles said Duntar surrendered in Barangay Lumpanac around 10:20 a.m., while Yatar surrendered in Kabasalan town around 10 a.m.

The three will receive assistance based on the government's programs for NPA surrenderers.
