A total of 706 devotees who participated in the grand procession of the Image of the Black Nazarene were given medical assistance by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Tuesday, January 9.

As of 8 PM, of the 706 devotees attended to by the PRC, 257 individuals had their vital signs checked, 215 were minor cases whereas six were major ones.

34 individuals were transferred from a first aid station to the hospital with 22 being carried to the PRC’s Emergency Field Hospital at the Kartilya ng Katipunan and 10 being transferred to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Among the minor complaints from patients were abrasion, puncture, dizziness, elevated blood pressure, difficulty in breathing burn, infected wound, chest pain, and avulsion. The major cases sustained head trauma (swelling), incision, fainting, laceration, vomiting, and severe chest pain.

PRC reported deploying 17 ambulance units, 10 first aid stations, eight welfare desks, one Emergency Field Hospital, one fire truck, and one food truck, from various locations around the area along with 316 active volunteers on the ground for the Traslacion 2024.

On Tuesday night, the mage of the Black Nazarene returned to Quiapo Church after almost 15 hours — breaking history yet again as the fastest in recent years.
