The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday clarified that all mayors in the National Capital Region (NCR) agreed to regulate the move of unvaccinated citizens.
This is after reports that one Metro Manila mayor refused to sign the resolution on the policy.
MMDA said in a statement that the resolution restricting the movement of unvaccinated individuals in the NCR "was unanimously approved by Metro Manila's 17 mayors."
According to the agency, one staff of the Metro Manila Council Secretariat erroneously reported to MMDA General Manager Romando Artes that Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro did not sign the resolution.
"To clarify, Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro withheld to affix his signature on the resolution immediately as he wanted to study its context thoroughly," MMDA said.
"Artes said he will take full responsibility for this mistake, ensuring that the agency will disseminate factual and reliable information on the matter," it added.
In addition, the resolution unsigned by Teodoro which circulated to the media also did not come from MMDA's official platforms.
In its clarification, the MMDA published the resolution with the signatures of all mayors across NCR.
