

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday announced the suspension of the number coding scheme in the National Capital Region (NCR) beginning April 6 until April 10.
April 6, Maundy Thursday, to April 9, Easter Sunday. are holidays while April 10, Monday, was declared by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. as the Day of Valor.
In a statement, the agency also announced that 2,104 MMDA personnel will be dispatched on major thoroughfares, major transport hubs, and key areas in NCR as part of its activation of Oplan Metro Alalay Semana Santa 2023.
“MMDA traffic personnel will be assigned to roads leading to bus terminals, seaports, airports, and major churches across the metropolis, to guide the commuters taking advantage of the Lenten season and to ensure unimpeded traffic flow," MMDA acting chairman Don Artes said.
The MMDA will establish help desks in Metro Cities such as Quezon City, Caloocan, Manila, and Pasay City where bus terminals and other key transportation hubs are located.
Meanwhile, the agency said it will heighten the presence of traffic enforcers on April 7, 8, and 9 in Visita Iglesia sites including Panata Route going to Antipolo and the Grotto, as well as frequently-visited churches such as Redemptorist Church in Parañaque, Sto. Domingo in Quezon City, San Agustin in Intramuros, and Quiapo in Manila, among others.
According to MMDA, it will enforce a No Day Off, No Absent Policy on April 5, 6, and 10, the days when traffic is expected to be jammed.
