The traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will start using body cameras for their traffic management operations.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the agency said its MMDA Traffic Discipline Office (TDO) has commenced the orientation on the technical specifications, features, parts, and advantages of the body cameras.

MMDA noted that all body cams are directly connected to the command canter of the agency that is located in Pasig City.

The footage that will be captured by the gadget can be used as evidence when filing a complaint against erring motorists, it added.

At least 100 body cameras will be distributed in different areas in Metro Manila, and these are expected to last for at least 8 hours, according to MMDA.

"Balak pa ni Chairman Artes na dagdagan ang mga body cameras sa mga susunod na buwan na inaasahan din na makakatulong sa kampanya ng ahensiya laban sa pangongotong," it said.
