Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal on Friday, Nov. 10, announced that they allotted a total of ₱3.5 million reward for those who can help resolve the murder case of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon or alias Johnny Walker.

“In pursuit of Justice in the maintenance of Peace [and] Order in the Province of Misamis Occidental, [w]e offer the following rewards to those who come forward with vital information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects in the following cases,” he said in a notice of award posted on his official Facebook page.

The ₱500,000 reward will be bestowed to any individual who has “vital information that will lead to the arrest” of the gunman who brazenly shot the radio broadcaster while he was on air last Sunday, Nov. 5.

The ₱500,000 will be additional to the ₱100,000 reward announced earlier by the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS).

Oaminal said the remaining ₱3 million reward will be given to any law enforcer who can arrest the gunman.

Aside from Jumalon’s case, the Misamis Occidental governor also offered a ₱1 million reward for any individual who can provide information about the criminals who have attempted to ambush and murder him with improvised explosive device (IED).

Any law enforcers who can also arrest the criminals will receive a ₱5 million reward.

“The people of Misamis Occidental Province believe they have the right to live in peace in harmony with each other as one people with one direction towards the development of our beloved province,” he stressed.

“Lawless elements have no place in our society,” Oaminal added.
