The family of the late veteran broadcaster Mike Enriquez will be opening his wake for public viewing on Saturday, September at the Christ The King Parish in Greenmeadows in Quezon City as a way of celebrating his life.
In an announcement, his home network GMA News announced that the public viewing will be open from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, guests are enjoined to donate to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
"Sa pahintulot ng kanyang pamilya, magkakaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga nagmamahal kay Mike C. Enriquez na masilayan ang kanyang mga labi sa Christ The King Parish, Greenmeadows sa darating na Sabado, Setyembre 2, 2023, mula 8:30 AM hanggang 3:00 PM," the post read.
The local news icon, best known for his catchphrase "Excuse me po," passed away on August 29 at the age of 71.
Enriquez served as senior vice president and consultant for the radio operations of GMA Network.
President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. extended his condolences to the bereaved family of the broadcaster, whom he regarded as the "pillar" of the Philippine Broadcasting Industry.
In 2018, Enriquez took a medical leave to undergo treatment for kidney disease and bypass surgery. Three years later, he had a kidney transplant.
