Around ₱32 million worth of marijuana plants were prooted and destroyed by the authorities in Tinglayan, Kalinga, on Friday.
According to RH Romy Gonzales' report in MBC Network News, the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, different police offices, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group conducted the marijuana radication at 12 plantation sites through the initiative of Operational Plan Fagot.
The operating troops destroyed 18,000 marijuana plants, amounting to ₱3.6 million, in Sitio Tarlin Tuga West.
In Barangay Bugnay, around 1,500 plants were burned, amounting to ₱300,000.
In Barangay Nibat, 12,000 marijuana plants were destroyed, amounting to ₱2.4 million.
While 49,500 marijuana plants were burned, amounting to ₱9.9 million in Barangay Lugkong.
The total number of fully grown marijuana plants destroyed is 146,700, which has a standard drug price of ₱31.5 million.
Authorities conducted the marijuana radication within the three days anti-drug operations.
