President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday vowed that justice will be served for John Matthew Salilig, a chemical engineering student from Adamson University who allegedly died due to a fraternity hazing.

In a statement posted on his Facebook, Marcos extended his sympathies for Salilig's kin.

"John was a child, a brother, a friend, a classmate, and a son of this nation, with a bright future ahead of him. It is not through violence that we can measure the strength of our brotherhood," he said.

"There should be no room for violence in our student organizations which our children consider family, and in our schools which they consider their second home," Marcos underscored.

Cavite Police on Tuesday found the remains of Salilig at a vacant lot in a subdivision in Malagasang, Imus City, after more than a week he was reported missing.

Authorities alleged that he was a victim of hazing as bruises were found on his legs.

Six of the 15 persons of interest behind the killing are now under the custody of the Binan police station.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez has offered Php 500,000 reward for any person who can give the information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the chemical engineer student's death.
