The Manila Police District (MPD) has temporarily removed all street vendor stalls around Quiapo Church as directed by the local government unit of Manila.
According to RH Boy Gonzales' report, the movement was in line with the approaching Traslacion 2024, where several roads will be utilized.
The vendors along Villalobos Street, Evangelista Street, and Carriedo Street, which are all in the vicinity of Quiapo Church, were removed.
Meanwhile, MPD called on other vendors not to greet the devotees when entering and leaving the church so as not to disturb them.
The MPD is allowing motorcycle riders and cyclists to stop and pray along Quezon Blvd., where there is no expected problem with traffic flow.
The MPD, however, cautions devotees against any type of crime and encourages them to coordinate the Police Assistance Desk in case of such troubles.
The Traslacion or the transfer of the image of the Black Nazarene is held every January 9.
