Transport group Manibela Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon (Manibela) on Monday announced the temporary halt of its three-day transportation strike due to the impending threat of Super Typhoon Egay.
The nationwide transport strike started on Monday and was supposed to on go until Wednesday, July 26.
"Tigil pasada temporarily suspended. Balik pasada na!" Manibela said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.
According to the group, it halted the nationwide tigil pasada as a response to the request of Malacañang and commuters groups.
But Manibela said it will launch a secret tigil pasada once the government will not address its pressing concerns.
Last July 12, Manibela announced a three-day nationwide tigil pasada of traditional jeepneys as their protest against the public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization and phaseout of public utility jeepneys (PUJs).
