Filipino wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan finished at eighth place in men’s 400-meter T52 event of the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, France.
Mangliwan clocked in one minute and 4.55 seconds in the finals held on Friday, August 30 (Paris time), at the Stade De France.
Maxime Carabin of Belgium snagged the gold medal after he finished the race with a time 55.10 seconds
Japanese wheelchair racer Tomoki Sato registered a time of 56.26 seconds in order to win the silver medal while his fellow countryman Tomoya Ito placed third among the eight finalists after he clocked in one minute and 1.08 seconds.
Mangliwan advanced to the finals after he finished seventh overall, with a time of one minute and 5.79 seconds, in the first round of the tournament.
The 44-year old wheelchair racer still has a chance to win a medal in the Paris Paralympics when he competes in the men's 100 meters T52 event which will begin on Thursday, September 5.
