A man was seized by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) in Batangas after threatening to bomb the unit’s office at Camp Crame.
According to PNP ACG Director PBGen. Bernard Yang, alias “Harvey,” 40, was captured through an arrest warrant issued by the Batangas Regional Trial Court (RTC).
The PNP ACG’s Facebook page had received numerous hostile, coarse direct messages and comments from Harvey, prompting a complaint. Moreover, he allegedly used three more dummy accounts to intimidate the PNP unit.
When the police uncovered his identity and location, Harvey admitted that all he wanted was attention.
Yang said all such threats to government offices are taken seriously.
The suspect faces three counts of grave threat under the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
