A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck off Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarrangani in Davao Occidental on Wednesday morning, Nov. 22.

According to the Philvocs' report, the tectonic origin earthquake occurred at 10:49 AM.

The quake had a depth of 137 kilometers and was located at 04.99°N, 126.00°E, and 079 km S 54°E of Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

No further intensities were recorded.

While there is no expected damage, the state bureau said aftershocks may occur.
