From 5 a.m. on Sunday, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) began restricted operations for LRT-2 from Antipolo to V. Mapa and vice versa until 10:56 a.m. because of a fire incident near the Recto Station.
The LRTA reports that a fire broke out in a residential area of Oroquetta, Sta. Cruz, Manila, affecting the LRT-2 power supply and signaling systems at Recto Station.
According to the transit authority's Facebook page, LRT-2 operations were extended from Antipolo Station to Legarda Station and vice versa as of 10:57 a.m.
The LRT-2 team was conducting clearing operations and area assessments. The LRTA has stated that LRT-2 will resume full-line operations "once the inspection is completed and the safety clearance is issued."
At 1:15 p.m., as per an LRTA alert, LRT-2 operations from Recto to Antipolo stations are now back to normal. The last train departs Recto Station at 9:30 p.m.
The final ride from Antipolo leaves around 9:00 p.m.
The connecting bridge from Recto Station to the LRT-1 Doroteo Jose Station, however, remains impassable as of this writing, according to the LRTA.
