The low pressure area (LPA) monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression, the PAGASA said.

As of 8:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, the state weather bureau reported that the LPA was located 2,080 km East of Southeastern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 35 km/h with gusts up to 55 km/h.

It was last seen moving north-northwestward at 15 km/h.

“Emong” has intensified into typhoon category and is still being monitored within the PAR. It was last seen moving 220 km west of Dagupan City, heading south-southeast at a slow pace. It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h and gusts of 150 km/h.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Dante” is still being monitored within the PAR. It was located 735 km east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, moving northwest at 30 km/h.

“Dante” has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h and gusts up to 90 km/h.

Meanwhile, Orange Warning Level persists in Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Laguna.

A Yellow Warning Level has been raised in Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Quezon.
